Introduction
REBO offers a full suite of demand-side back office products and services to retailers in deregulated energy markets. From a full suite of back office products to system analysis and user acceptance testing of new systems, REBO can help assure that your operations run smoothly and efficiently.
For some energy retailers, internal systems grow as their business grows, with little or no thought given to overall design, functionality and future requirements. For example, a retailer might purchase or build a billing system which over time becomes their de facto customer information system. As the retailer grows, functionality such as forecasting, scheduling, settlement, and risk management is added, new service areas are added (each with its own unique business rules), or products are added to expand from electric retailing into both electric and gas retailing. Each new addition requires larger and larger investments in time and money to implement until growth is limited by the systems. A retailer’s primary business is to acquire and service customers, but having to focus on infrastructure issues can easily divert resources and money that could be better spent on acquiring and serving customers. Furthermore, many systems that just evolve do not manage and integrate data and functionality well and consequently put the retailer at additional risk. With a little early planning many of the pitfalls of systems that “just grew” can be avoided.
Capitalizing on our experience in providing systems and services to electric and gas retailers, REBO has developed a system of demand-side services that can be offered as an integrated package or as stand alone products. We also offer integration services so that individual functions can be integrated into our client’s systems.
Our full service offering, REBORetail, is structured around our core customer information platform. Since nearly all retail functions rely on accurate and complete customer information to perform well, we’ve taken great pains to assure that our CIS is as robust as possible. From that base we’ve added usage data processing, enrollment, forecasting, billing, backcasting and reporting functions.
REBO’s experience developing and implementing integrated retail energy information systems spans all facets of retail energy systems and operations. Our experience allows us to identify issues in the structure or management of your existing systems that would manifest themselves when implementing new products or expanding into new territories or businesses. We can then offer solutions that will mitigate potential problems and risks with growth and expansion of system functionality.
